Privacy Policy

NotezZz · Last updated 9 October 2026

The short version: NotezZz has no servers and no accounts. Your notes are stored on your own device and, if you choose to sign in, in a single folder of your own Google Drive. We never receive, store, or see your notes — there is nowhere for us to put them.

Who this covers

This policy applies to the NotezZz web app at flatvoxel.com/NotezZz, the NotezZz desktop application for Windows, and the NotezZz app for Android.

What NotezZz stores, and where

DataWhere it lives
Your notes (text, drawings, images, voice recordings) On your device, and — only if you sign in with Google — as files in a folder named NotezZz in your own Google Drive.
Your settings (theme, palette, font size) Same as your notes.
Google sign-in tokens Stored locally on your device so you stay signed in (on Android, held by Google Play services on your phone). Never transmitted anywhere except back to Google.
Your email address Read from Google only to display which account is connected and to renew your session quietly. Stored locally; never sent to us.

What we collect

Nothing. NotezZz has no backend service, no database, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixels, and no crash reporting. We do not create an account for you, because there is no account system.

The Google permission NotezZz asks for

When you choose to sync, NotezZz requests the narrow drive.file permission. This is the most restricted Drive scope Google offers: it grants access only to files the app itself creates, plus any file or folder you explicitly hand to it. NotezZz is technically incapable of listing, reading, or modifying the rest of your Google Drive — this is enforced by Google, not by our promise.

It also requests openid and email, which reveal only which account you signed in with, so the app can show it and refresh the session without prompting you repeatedly.

Android permissions

Home-screen widgets read a copy of your note titles and text that the app keeps inside its own storage on the phone. If you sign in with Google, the app refreshes that copy about every 30 minutes while it is closed, by reading the notes that changed in your own Drive folder. Nothing is sent anywhere else.

Update checks

The Windows app and the Android app downloaded from our website ask GitHub, where NotezZz is published, whether a newer version exists, and download it from there when you choose to install it. The Android app from Google Play doesn't: Google Play keeps it up to date. These requests carry no notes or account details; GitHub sees what any web request shows, such as your IP address, under GitHub's own privacy statement.

Using NotezZz without signing in

Signing in is optional. On the web you can choose “Open without signing in”, and in the Windows and Android apps you can simply not sign in. In that mode notes are kept on your device only, and the app makes no calls to Google at all.

Who your data is shared with

This website

These pages are static files. They set no cookies, run no analytics, and load no third-party scripts or fonts. Our web host records standard server access logs (IP address, page requested, timestamp) for security and troubleshooting, as essentially all web servers do.

Deleting your data

Because we hold nothing, there is nothing for you to request from us. To remove your notes, delete the NotezZz folder in your Google Drive and uninstall the app. To revoke the app's access at any time, visit your Google account permissions.

Children

NotezZz is not directed at children under 13.
